ADULT HOME GROUPS
ADULT HOME GROUPS
"I give you a new command: love one another. Just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." -John 13:34-35 (CSB)
In their book, The Trellis and the Vine, Colin Marshall and Tony Payne address crucial questions in the life of the local church. Through the metaphor of a trellis and a vine, one of the primary ways we fulfill our mission to make disciples at Fairview is through the trellis of Home Groups. Here, we seek to cultivate an environment to live out God’s Word together.
What is the purpose of Home Groups?
Home groups seek to provide a space where we apply the truths of Scripture to our life as a church. Groups are one of the primary ways we can practice love and hospitality to one another, walk in the Spirit together, and advance the gospel in our neighborhoods. These home groups are one of the fastest ways to connect with smaller numbers of people and begin meaningful relationships.
What happens during a home group meeting?
Facilitated by church members, these groups typically share a meal together in fellowship, discuss and apply the Scripture from Sunday, and prayer together.
Where and when do home groups meet?
Most groups meet in host homes scattered throughout the area. Home groups typically meet on Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday evenings. Groups meet about three times a month, sometimes breaking the fourth week. Click here for a current listing of groups and general areas!
Are children welcome?
Children are gladly welcome! Each group provides childcare during the group according to their own plan. Teenagers are encouraged to meet along with the adults in the regular meeting.
How can I join a group?
